Oklahoma tattoo artists face new regulations
“Under the proposed guidelines, licenses would cost 250 dollars for an artist and one-thousand dollars for an establishment. Tattoo parlors also would be required to obtain a 100-thousand-dollar surety bond.”

Oklahoma finally passed the law to make tattooing legal in the state. what shop owners didn’t know is that BOND PRO, Oklahoma’s only source for bonding a tattoo studio, is making it nearly impossible for shop owners with credit scores below 690 to get bonded. My wife and I applied for the bond. We had a good credit rating until we used are credit cards to modernize our studio and have it up to health department regulations. using our credit dropped our good rating to a fair rating. and because of this, Bond Pro won’t bond our studio unless we come up with 55,000.00 dollars worth of collateral and 11,000.00 dollars cash. It seems to me that Oklahomans really don’t want the tattooing industry in their state. If you are not rich or have excellent credit, you can’t open up shop here.
