Unlicensed tattoo artists spread infections in 3 states
From the AP - “Forty-four tattoo customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Vermont developed skin infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention… MRSA generally causes mild skin infections, but in some cases has led to pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and a painful, flesh-destroying condition called necrotizing fasciitis.”
This is a very good reason why you should not have your friend do your tattoo. Go to a liscenced tattoo shop were the artists follow proper procedures.

I do tattoos in my home, and 2 weeks ago a girl wanted a tattoo,I told her”I don have nothing sterilized,I can tattoo tomorrow”,and because I was tattooing my wife the girl told me to use the same tube I was using with my wife.I told her no,then she got mad and leaved. The thing is if you make tattoos don’t think money is the most important thing, because your reputation and the health of your clients are more important, even if they don’t care.

i agree with erik, there are people out there that are unlicenced n they still do tattoos illegally, but if u get one from someone outside a tattoo shop, make sure everything is clean and watch them take the supplies out of the package

the first thing in tattoo is hygiene, safety measures ,one should always elaborate the things before tattooing himself.this will be a good sign to tattoo culture .

Certain parts of Pa. now have regulations on tattooing. It is the shops & the tattoo artist job to make sure everything is clean & sterile, if not for the customers sake, but their own. Some of these artist & shops are to cheap to spend .52 cents on a new needle everytime.Even if you use a auto clave, it doesn’t kill all the spores, which puts the customer & artist in risk.Shop owners & artist must start taking responsibility.
